Beta Program Privacy Notice

Effective Date: April 24, 2026

This Beta Program Privacy Notice (“Notice”) describes how Plaud Inc. (“Plaud,” “we,” or “us”) collects, uses, and handles personal information and usage data from participants in the Plaud Beta Service Testing Program (the “Beta Program”). This Notice supplements Plaud’s general Privacy Policy, available at https://www.plaud.ai/pages/privacy-policy.

Participating in the Beta Program is voluntary. If You do not agree with the data practices described in this Notice, please do not enroll in or continue to use the Beta Program. Plaud is committed to protecting your privacy and handles all data in accordance with applicable laws and other relevant data protection frameworks. Participating in the program may involve the collection and use of data by Plaud as outlined below

What We Collect in the Beta Program

When You participate in the Beta Program, Plaud may collect the following categories of data:

Automatically Collected Diagnostic Data

While the Pre-Release Service is active on Your Plaud device or companion app, Plaud automatically collects technical data to help us understand performance and identify issues. This includes:

  • Device identifiers (e.g., device model, firmware version, app version, operating system);

  • Crash logs, error reports, and application state snapshots;

  • Performance metrics (e.g., battery usage, recording start/stop timing, connectivity status, processing speed);

  • Feature engagement signals (e.g., which Beta features are enabled, frequency of use, session duration);

  • Audio quality metadata (e.g., signal strength indicators, noise level categorization, microphone status) but NOT the content of your recordings or transcriptions; and

  • Network and connectivity information (e.g., Wi-Fi or Bluetooth status, sync success/failure rates).

This diagnostic data is collected in a form that does not individually identify You. Note that certain minimal diagnostics are required for the Pre-Release Service to function.

Account and Registration Data

If You register for the Beta Program through Plaud’s portal, we collect certain personal information to manage Your Beta Program enrollment, communicate program updates, and deliver Beta access. This may include, but is not limited to, Your name, email address, country/region, Plaud account ID, and other information You provide at the time of registration as reasonably requested by Plaud in connection with Your participation in the Beta Program.

Voluntary Feedback Submissions

You may be invited to submit Feedback including bug reports, feature assessments, or in-app survey responses. You may also optionally attach diagnostic log files. These files may contain personally identifiable information, such as Your account name, device name, or — if You have chosen to use the service to record conversations — audio data or transcription snippets from those recordings.

Submitting Feedback with attachments is entirely voluntary. Before attaching any files, please review them to ensure You are comfortable sharing the content. By submitting such files, You confirm that You have obtained all necessary consents from individuals whose voices or information may be included.

Survey and Interview Data

Plaud may invite Beta Testers to participate in optional user research activities such as surveys, usability interviews, or focus groups. Data collected through these activities (responses, recordings of interviews with Your consent) is used solely for product research and improvement.

How We Use Beta Data

Plaud uses Beta Program data for the following purposes:

  • Product Development and Improvement: To identify bugs, evaluate feature performance, assess transcription accuracy across languages, and inform development decisions for the Pre-Release Service and future commercial releases.

  • Quality Assurance: To test the stability and reliability of Pre-Release firmware and application builds across different hardware configurations and usage contexts.

  • Beta Program Administration: To manage enrollment, communicate program updates, send survey invitations, and provide Beta-specific support.

  • Analytics and Reporting: To generate aggregate, anonymized reports about Beta Program usage patterns that inform product strategy. These reports do not identify individual participants.

What we do NOT do with your data: We do not use Beta data to train our AI models without Your explicit, separate consent. We do not share your personal information with advertisers. We do not sell your data to any third party.

Changes to This Notice

Plaud may amend this Notice at any time by posting revised terms on the Beta Program portal. Your continued participation constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.
